A Bit About Me

Aldo R. Jackson, Ph.D. serves as a Career and Technical Distinguished School Leader with the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In this role, he consults with career and technical centers on staff and curriculum development, strategic planning, and program and facilities assessment. He works with career and technical centers in northern and western Pennsylvania.

Previously, Dr. Jackson served as the Executive Director for Workforce Development and Erie Operations for the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) from 2018 to 2021. During his tenure with NPRC, the workforce division set up over 65 courses in 11 occupational areas to serve the technical training needs of unemployed and underemployed individuals across a nine-county service area of northern Pennsylvania.

Prior to his role with the regional college, Dr. Jackson served as the executive director of the Erie County Technical School (ECTS) from 1997 to 2018. During his tenure with ECTS, the school added a therapeutic vocational alternative education program for middle and high school youth, started Pennsylvania’s first plastics technology program for high school students, worked with postsecondary institutions to create over 60 articulation agreements, and led the establishment of an accredited quality management system that met the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 standard.

Before his directorship at the Erie County Technical School, Dr. Jackson served as the interim Vocational Director for the Carlisle Area School District for one and a half years. He also served as a field resource instructor with the Professional Development Center for Vocational Education at Pennsylvania State University for four years, where he worked with first- and second-year vocational teachers to develop their pedagogical skills.

Dr. Jackson left a 10-year career with the Great Oaks Career and Technology Centers in Cincinnati, Ohio, to pursue doctoral studies at Pennsylvania State University. While with Great Oaks, he served as a marketing education teacher, adult education director, and assistant director for secondary programs. While at Penn State, he acquired his Ph.D. in Vocational Education. He also holds a M.Ed. in Business Education and a B.S. in Marketing and Distributive Education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Dr. Jackson holds vocational director and vocational supervisor certificates, as well as a letter of eligibility and a secondary principal certificate. His professional associations include the Association for Career and Technology Education and Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators.
